Songs of Kabir (1915), translated by Rabindranath Tagore, is an anthology of poems by the 15th-century Indian spiritual master Kabir. The poems were collected by Kshitimohan Sen from both written and oral sources. Tagore worked with Evelyn Underhill on the book, which includes translations from an unpublished version of 116 songs by Ajit Kumar Chakravarty. The collection has been translated into Persian and Kurdish. While the language of the English version is now archaic, updated translations by Robert Bly and David Masterman are available.

Rabindranath Tagore

His works mark the onset of modernism in literature and art, and he was also awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913 for his exemplary contribution.
