Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor and engineer renowned for his work in developing the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system. He studied engineering in the Austrian Empire and worked in telephony and for Edison before immigrating to the U.S. in 1884. Tesla's innovations included the AC induction motor, wireless lighting, and early X-ray imaging. Despite his successes, he died impoverished. Tesla's legacy was revived in 1960 when the SI unit of magnetic flux density was named the tesla.
