Abstract
Crime trends in India are rapidly evolving, with technology emerging as both a catalyst for new-age crimes and a tool for effective law enforcement. While cybercrime and white-collar offences dominate current concerns, broader technological transformations, advancements in forensic science, and shifting socio-economic contexts also shape criminal activity. Social factors–including economic conditions and pandemic-related disruptions–further influence crime patterns. Addressing these challenges requires adaptive legal frameworks, proactive strategies, and collaborative efforts to balance prevention, investigation, and justice. In this complex landscape, technology remains a double-edged sword, demanding nuanced responses for a secure and just society.
