Suryanarayana was subsequently a resident researcher in Singapore, focusing on China-India relations. He is now Senior Fellow of the Society for Indian Ocean Studies, New Delhi, and Adjunct Senior Fellow of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Singapore.
