A Study of Linear Recurrence Relations with Periodic Coefficients

Abstract :
We will discuss the behavior of order-k linear recurrence relations with period-p coefficients and sequences that satisfy these relations. In particular, we provide sufficient conditions under which these sequences can be decomposed into a collection of p order-k subsequences defined by recurrence relations with constant coefficients. We use these results to construct generating functions for the sequences, and give some examples of such relations and sequences.
