On a Bivariate Version of Zero-Inflated Logarithmic Series Distribution and its Properties

Abstract
In this paper we consider a bivariate version of the zero-inflated logarithmic series distribution of Kumar and Riyaz (Statistica, 2013) through its probability generating function (PGF) and derive expressions for its probability mass function, factorial moments, marginal and conditional PGFs. Recursion formulae for probabilities, raw moments and factorial moments of the bivariate distribution are also obtained. Moreover, the maximum likelihood estimation of the parameters of the bivariate distribution is attempted and the distribution has been fitted to a real life data set.
