On Generalized Fuzzy Divergence Measure and Their Application to Multi-Criteria Decision Making

Abstract
Divergence is an important measure in information theory as well as in fuzzy set theory which has widely used by researchers in many application areas. Generalized divergence measures provide flexibility to the users and enhance their applicability range. In this paper, we introduce a new divergence measure, a kind of a discrimination measure, in the setting of fuzzy set theory. This measure is a generalized version of fuzzy divergence measure proposed by Shang and Jiang (1997), having a flexibility parameter l. Some properties of this measure and its applications bringing out the crucial role of the parameter in decision making problems under multi-criteria are demonstrated.
