A Class of Nonparametric Tests Based on Sample Quantiles

Page No: 211-233
Abstract
A general class of distribution-free tests for the two-sample location problem is proposed. The tests are based on two-sample U-statistics. This class generalizes the tests proposed by Kumar et al (2003) [Kumar, N., Singh, R.S. and Ozturk, O. (2003), A new class of distribution-free tests for location parameters, Sequential Analysis, 22, 107-128] and includes many other tests as its members. The proposed class of tests is compared with other known tests already existing in literature in the Pitman asymptotic relative efficiency sense for different underlying distributions.
