Abstract
In this article, we introduce the minimum of octagonal fuzzy numbers in two forms. The former involves ?-cuts and the latter involves co-ordinate wise operations and Hausdorff metric is used to compare them. As an application, we present a multi-attribute decision making (MADM) problem, in which we use octagonal fuzzy numbers to describe linguistic variables. Finally MATHCAD 14 (a mathematical software) programs are presented, as a template to solve the MADM problem, so that the problem can be extended to any finite number.
