India-Nepal Relations: Striking the Right Balance

Several agreements on development projects that have been signed between India and Nepal need to be reviewed and updated, for implementation in the future. A single institution vested with financial and administrative powers, preferably jointly managed by both countries, could work out feasible targets.

An alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad, Ambassador A.R. Ghanashyam IFS (Retd.) spent six years in the Oil and Shipping industries in India before joining the Indian diplomatic corps, where for the next 35 years he occupied senior positions in India and overseas. He has been Indian envoy to eight countries, including Angola and Nigeria. He currently advises and speaks on international economics and foreign policy issues.
